भारत के महान बल्लेबाज़ और विकेटकीपर महेंद्र सिंह धोनी मैदान पर उतरे और कोई रिकॉर्ड न बने ऐसा अब थोडा कम ही होता है.भारत के पूर्व कप्तान महेंद्र सिंह धोनी ने वनडे क्रिकेट में एक और उपलब्धि हासिल कर ली है. वह एक दिवसीय मैचों के दस हजारी बन गए हैं. वह ऐसा करने वाले भारत के चौथे खिलाड़ी हैं. इससे पहले सचिन तेंदुलकर, सौरव गांगुली और राहुल द्रविड़ ही इस मुकाम पर पहुंचे हैं. खास बात ये है कि ज्यादातर मैचों में निचले क्रम में बल्लेबाजी करते हुए धोनी ने यह मुकाम हासिल किया है.
लंदन में लॉर्ड्स के मैदान में खेले जा रहे मैच के दौरान धोनी को दस हजार रन पूरे करने के लिए 33 रनों की दरकार थी. उन्होंने इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ मैच के दौरान 42वें ओवर में अपने 10 हजार रन पूरे किए. महेंद्र सिंह धोनी ने 273 पारियों में यह कारनामा किया है. वह अब तक 320 एकदिवसीय मैच खेल चुके हैं और इस दौरान उन्होंने 10 शतक और 67 अर्धशतक लगाए हैं. शनिवार को मैच के दौरान धोनी ने इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ 37 रन बनाए.
