भारत और ऑस्ट्रेलिया के बीच खेली जा रही टेस्ट सीरीज के शुरूआती दो टेस्ट मैच में केएल राहुल को भारतीय टीम की पारी की शुरूआत करने का मौका मिला था.
केएल राहुल सीरीज की 4 पारियों में 12 की मामूली औसत से मात्र 48 रन ही बना पाये थे. इसके बाद मेलबर्न में खेले जा रहे तीसरे टेस्ट मैच में केएल राहुल को प्लेइंग इलेवन में मौका नहीं मिला है. तीसरे टेस्ट की प्लेइंग इलेवन में राहुल की जगह मयंक अग्रवाल को मौका मिला है.
