भारत ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया की धरती में 2-1 के अंतर से चार मैचों की टेस्ट सीरीज जीत ली है. इस टेस्ट सीरीज को जीतने के बाद भारतीय टीम के कोच रवि शास्त्री प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में आये, लेकिन अपनी प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस के दौरान वह कई ऐसी बातें बोल गये, जो भारतीय क्रिकेट प्रेमियों को बिलकुल पसंद नहीं आई है.
1983 विश्व कप जीत से बताई बड़ी जीत
रवि शास्त्री ने अपने प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में कहा, “विश्व कप 1983 और विश्व चैंपियनशिप 1985 मेरे लिए बड़ी जीत थी, लेकिन यह जीत मेरे लिए और भी ज्यादा बड़ी है, क्योंकि टेस्ट क्रिकेट एक सबसे मुश्किल क्रिकेट है और यही रियल क्रिकेट भी है.”
रवि शास्त्री ने आगे अपने बयान में वर्तमान टीम और पिछली टीमों की तुलना करते हुए कहा, “मुझे आज अपने सभी खिलाड़ियों पर गर्व है और अब आज आप भारत की इस वर्तमान टीम और भारत की पिछली टीमों को देख सकते है. आज हमारी वर्तमान टीम आँखों में आँखे मिलाकर कह सकती है, कि हमने प्रोपर टेस्ट क्रिकेट खेली.
