आईपीएल 2019 के दूसरे मुकाबले में कोलकाता नाईट राइडर्स और सनराइजर्स हैदराबाद की टीम आमने सामने थी। केन विलियमसन की गैरमौजूदगी में हैदराबाद के कप्तानी भुवनेश्वर कुमार के हाथ में थी। केकेआर के कप्तान दिनेश कार्तिक ने टॉस जीतकर पहले गेंदबाज करने का फैसला किया। आंद्रे रसेल और शुभमन गिल की शानदार बल्लेबाजी ने कोलकाता को इस मैच में जीत दिला दी।
तीन ओवर में 53 का लक्ष्य
कोलकाता नाईट राइडर्स को जीत के लिए 20 ओवर में 181 रन बनाये थे। कोलकाता की बल्लेबाजी खास नहीं चली और उन्हें अंतिम तीन ओवर में जीत के लिए 53 रनों की जरूरत थी और टीम ने उसे दो गेंद बाकि रहते हासिल कर लिया।
पहले आंद्रे रसेल ने भुवनेश्वर कुमार और सिद्धार्थ कौल की धुनाई की वहीं अंतिम ओवर में शुभमन गिल ने शाकिब अल हसन जैसे अनुभवी गेंदबाजों को दो छक्के जड़कर अपनी टीम को जीत दिला दी।

भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम का भविष्य माने जाने वाले शुभमन गिल इस बल्लेबाजी की वजह से सोशल मीडिया पर छा गये। उन्होंने भले ही 10 गेंद में 18 रन बनाये लेकिन अंतिम ओवर में उनके दो छक्के ने सभी का दिल जीत लिया।
