आईपीएल 2019 के 18वें मुकाबले में चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स और किंग्स इलेवन पंजाब के बीच मुकाबला खेला गया। इस मैच में चेन्नई के कप्तान महेंद्र सिंह धोनी ने टॉस जीतकर पहले बल्लेबाजी करने का फैसला किया। पंजाब की टीम में क्रिस गेल और एंड्रू टाई को जगह मिली वहीं सीएसके ने हरभजन सिंह, फाफ डूप्लेसिस और स्कॉट कुगलेइजन को जगह मिली। सीएसके ने इस मैच को 22 रनों से जीत लिया।
चेन्नई ने बनाया 160 रन
चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स ने पहले बल्लेबाजी करते हुए 160 रन बनाये। उनके लिए इस सीजन पहले मैच खेल रहे फाफ डूप्लेसी ने शानदार अर्धशतक बनाया। महेंद्र सिंह धोनी और अंबाती रायडू ने अंतिम ओवर में तेजी से रन बनाकर टीम को 150 के पास पहुंचा दिया।
किंग्स इलेवन पंजाब की शुरुआत बेहद खराब रही। हरभजन सिंह ने क्रिस गेल और मयंक अग्रवाल को दूसरे ओवर में ही पवेलियन भेज दिया। इसके बाद केएल राहुल और सरफराज खान ने पारी संभाली लेकिन दोनों ने काफी धीमी बल्लेबाजी की।

केएल राहुल ने इस मैच में अर्धशतक बनाया लेकिन उन्होंने तेजी से रन बनाने की कोशिश नहीं की। उन्होंने सरफराज के साथ मिलकर शतकीय साझेदारी बनाई, लेकिन उन्होंने काफी धीमी बल्लेबाजी की। इसी वजह से वह ट्रोलर के निशाने पर आ गये।
